Research and Methods Core

Welcome to the RMC: The Research and Methods Core (RMC), led by Dr. Jeanine Genkinger and Dr. Laura Pinheiro, provides key support for the SoCa members at Cornell University (CU), Downstate Health Sciences University (Downstate), and Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). By bringing together a diverse cadre of PhD and clinician scientists in biostatistics, epidemiology, social determinants of health, cultural humility, data harmonization, implementation science, and patient-reported outcomes, the RMC facilitates SoCa’s transdisciplinary research teams, fosters data synergy and integration of the research projects and pilot projects, support planning and evaluation of the Center’s research productivity, and facilitate data connections with the Persistent Poverty Initiative Network.

Additional Scientific Expertise: The RMC group will also be supported by content and methodologic experts who are members of CTSA / CTSC at CUIMC and CU, Downstate, and NYP Hospital System, and the departments, centers, and institutes at each respective institution. We have also identified trans-disciplinary expertise at both CU and CUIMC that includes social, cancer, and clinical epidemiology, behavioral science, health equity, community-based research, cost effectiveness, health policy, geospatial analysis, bioinformatics, and large-scale simulation modeling.
