The SoCa Developmental Core lead was honored to welcome Dr. Paul Campbell, PhD, from the American Cancer Society (ACS) to Downstate in December 2025. Dr. Campbell serves as the Scientific Director of Cell Biology & Preclinical Cancer Research in the Extramural Discovery Sciences department of the ACS.
His seminar talk, "Insights into the Research Funding Mechanisms of the American Cancer Society," provided an overview of the ACS's research funding programs, review process, grant mechanisms, and practical guidance on how to write competitive cancer grants.
